Cluster Team Newsletter - Summer 2024
Posted 16th July 2024
Our Cluster Team works with Trust schools and partners to provide a comprehensive package of targeted support for local children, young people and families experiencing social, emotional and/ or behavioural difficulties.
This includes 1:1 supporrt, consultation and advice, online support courses, and a targetted programme of school summer holiday activities.
The Cluster Team also has wider community links and partnerships, runs fundraising events and has strategic links to Leeds City Council, NHS and the third sector.
The Cluster Parent Support Team provides 1:1 early intervention support for parents and carers, delivers evidence-based parent support groups and courses, and provides advice, guidance and consultation for parents, carers, schools, and partners. The team also provides family support, alongside specialist services, to children and families who are amongst the most vulnerable in Leeds.
"Talking about my daughter and our experiences was invaluable. It's great to be in a room with others going through the same."
"So many useful tips that can make my child's life easier and us as parents as well. I now understand the situation and point of view so much more clearly."
This year our Leeds Cluster Team have received 180 referrals and have supported over 200 children, young people and families via 1:1 targeted support. They have delivered two parent support groups, supporting parents and carers of children diagnosed with/or who are currently being assessed for autism. They have distributed almost £3000 worth of Asda vouchers to support vulnerable families with the cost of living crisis, and they have raised an additional £10,500 via various fundraising activity, which will go back into supporting local children and families. Our Harrogate Cluster Team have received 37 referrals for counselling.
Summer Holiday Activities in Leeds
This Summer our Cluster Team holiday activities will be targeted at our most vulnerable families. We have very limited funding this year so we want to offer a day out to those families who otherwise might not get the chance. We have one trip booked to take families to Scarborough for the day and are looking to secure some more funding for a couple more trips.
There are some activities taking place locally that are being coordinated by other local organisations. Please see details belowThese include:
Fundraising
A huge thank you to all of the local businesses who continue to support our Cluster Team by hosting our collection tins in store. This month they have banked over £300 and over the year this is closer to £620! Thank you so much to Barry's Halton Moor, Neville Fisheries, John's Shop at Ullswater Stores, Leeds Lock and Engraving Centre, Halton Pharmacy, WM Dodgson and Son and Melanie's Hair Studio. Our team couldn't do what they do without you.
And finally....our Cluster Manager is doing a charity skydive this summer and half of the funds raised will be donated to the TNCP Cluster Team for support work and counselling in schools. The other half will go to Macmillan Cancer Support. Gemma has raised £630 of her £1000 target so far. If you would like to sponsor Gemma then please click here.
